Connecting Communities Through Affordable Living
Launched in 2010 as part of PRASA’s National Station Precinct Development Land Release Programme, the Goodwood Station Social Housing Development is a flagship initiative that brings together affordable rental housing and accessible public transport. Strategically located to offer seamless connectivity to Cape Town CBD, Bellville and surrounding areas, the development is designed to boost station patronage while addressing the pressing need for inclusive urban housing. A long-term development lease was entered into between PRASA and the appointed developer, ensuring sustainable delivery and long-term impact.
The project comprises 1,055 residential units, delivered in two phases:
331 units completed in 2023.
724 units completed in 2024.
This development stands as a testament to PRASA’s commitment to integrated urban planning, social upliftment and the transformation of station precincts into vibrant, liveable spaces.
